This gold half eagle commemorates the XXVI Olympiad held in Atlanta, Georgia. Designed by Marcel Jovine, the obverse shows the Olympic stadium, the official logo and THE CENTENNIAL GAMES beneath a stylized LIBERTY. The reverse by Frank Gasparro depicts a bald eagle with a banner dated 1896-1996.
